Nicolas Pirró
Full Professor
Nicolas is University Professor and Hospital Practitioner at Marseille Public University Hospitals (AP-HM). He is specialized in Digestive and Oncological Surgery. His research interests are mainly focused on medical imaging.
Non-permanent members
Raphaël Abele
Postdoctoral researcher
Raphaël works within the context of the A*midex PedIATrach project. His current research focuses on automating the processing, detection, and 3D reconstruction of the trachea using AI, including outlier detection.
Abderrahmen Bendimered
Research Engineer
Abderrahmen works on the analysis of the behavior of autistic children, particularly through the tracking of 3D gaze. This involves the development of solutions to estimate the direction of gaze using an RGB-D camera, combining head orientation and eye position. Additionally, person tracking is used to follow the child’s movements in a doctor’s office.
Rabih Chamas
Research Engineer
Rabih specializes in computer vision, focusing on medical imaging. He enhances classification accuracy and interpretability in dermatologic imagery by fusing generative models, such as Stable Diffusion, with classifiers to improve performance, reduce data bias, and provide interpretability solutions.
Marc-Adrien Hostin
Temporary Teaching and Research Fellow (ATER)
Marc-Adrien defended his PhD in artificial intelligence applied to automatic MRI analysis. His subject covers topics ranging from the segmentation of leg muscles in the context of neuromuscular diseases to the generation of images of synthetic patients by GAN. He is currying now a teaching mission at the faculty of science.
Jorge Rodriguez Ramos
Research Engineer
Jorge works as a biological image analysis engineer. His aim is to implement deep learning methods and tools for managing and analyzing electron microscopy images. The research tributes to the AMIDEX SEMENDO project, co-developed by LIS and IHU Méditerranée Infection—APHM, La Timone Hospital.
PhD students
Moncef Boujou
PhD Student
Moncef is pursuing his PhD in computer vision, deep learning, image processing, and works primarily on Multiple Camera Person Tracking. He also carries out teaching activities in computer science.
Bertrand Chemisky
PhD Student
Bertrand is pursuing his PhD, focusing on underwater optical surveys conducted from a robotic vehicle using real-time photogrammetry, including quality assessment and the implementation of corrective actions. Concurrently, he serves as the head of Civil Activities at iXblue.
Mira Razafindrambao
PhD Student
Mira works on artificial intelligence applied to medical imaging, particularly on the detection of pancreatic cancer from echo-endoscopic images using deep learning models.
Jules Collenne
PhD Student
Jules works on skin cancer diagnosis using machine learning. His current research focuses on Siamese neural networks, self-supervised visual representation learning and image classification. He is also a teaching assistant at the BUT Networks and Telecommunications.
Raul Alfredo De Sousa Silva
PhD Student
Already coming from a background on image processing on medical and biological field, he works on the modelling of complex autistic behaviour on mice through CV/DL techniques. It is also interested on the impact of induced obesity during pregnancy on autistic behaviour expression.
